As for the Georgia dispute I am quite clear what the true story is, without the Russian or EU bias. Georgia invaded a territory that Russia felt it had some control over. The problem is you never tempt the Russian bear (as Hitler found to his disaster), as it is never clear how it will react or how well organized it will become. Georgia found that out to its cost. Georgia will find it's port occupied from many years to come, and it will have to live under a cloud of fear. But if Georgia had left the Russian protectorate alone his country wouldn't be in this mess. How slowly these former Bloc states realize, though the cold war is over Russia is still a dangerous bear at their gates. Russia already warned Europe with the internet attacks, why do these former states tempt it, Georgia is doomed to have parts of its country under Russian domination. I just hope that other states don't fall into the same mess Georgia has. OOC: Do not worry I have my own military strategy for Georgia. 1. Sweep in through Turkey and bomb the rail and roads connecting Georgia to Russia 2. Move troops to surround the Russians at the port 3. Move troops through to Georgia Capital 4. Threaten Russian troops at the port 5. Demand Russian withdraw (or just simply take all those Russian troops prisoner) 6. Russia pulls out of Georgia but stays in Oscetia, etc There you go. If Russia gets too pushy there is a way out.

My points on the matter:
1. There are many Russians living in South Ossetia.
2. Current Georgia Government is a pawn of american foreign affairs goals.
3. Current Georgia Government thought that if a dispute will Russia, Russia will stay calm and America (USA) will come to their help if anything.
4. Russia wanted to give a reply to USA and EU after Kossovo similar case.
5. World is not the same ... During cold war we had a balance of terror and 2 world leaders, after that USA dominated the world, during the last 8 years there is no balance and no domination ...
6. I support not changing current borders among nations in Earth as this will be a source of many conflicts and new wars and wars are not nice ...

Well with Kossovo the serbs started it, general genocides didn't exactly help the Serb image, if they had deported instead of used genocide I don't think Kossovo would exist. As for the whole issue the region was much more stable with Yugoslavia, the fault of the west and the east (if you can say that) was allowing it to fall apart in the first place.

Agreed with both points; even though Kossovo creation opened the Pandora box ...

Agreed with both points; even though Kossovo creation opened the Pandora box ... I think the Pandora's box was that because Kossovo was allowed independence Russia had no problems declaring Oscetia independent as well. I think it is more of a case of you got Kossovo, and we got Oscetia, we are even now.
